2003's Invasion was significant because FIPPOA (the Fire Island Pines Property Owners
Association) and John B. Whyte (the owner of the Botel that provoked the first Invasion)
finally welcomed Panzi with the keys to the Pines in honor of the town's 50th Anniversary!
This was John Whyte's last Invasion and summer in Fire Island. He died on March 22, 2004.
